For more than 20 years, I have been exploring one question: why do some people unlock their potential while others spend years searching for it?
For many years, I believed success was mostly about effort. Work harder. Learn more. Push further. Like many ambitious people, I thought achievement was the answer. If you worked hard enough, stayed disciplined enough, and kept moving forward, everything else would eventually fall into place.
Yet the longer I worked with people, the more I noticed something that didn’t fit this explanation.
Some highly talented individuals never seemed to fully realize their potential. Others, with seemingly ordinary abilities, built remarkable businesses, meaningful relationships, and fulfilling lives. Some people achieved success yet still felt lost. Others had less, but seemed deeply aligned with who they were.
The difference couldn’t be explained by intelligence alone. It couldn’t be explained by education, experience, or opportunity alone either. The question stayed with me for years: why do some people become who they are capable of becoming, while others spend their lives searching for themselves?
That eventually became one of the most important questions of my life.
What thousands of conversations taught me about self-awareness
Over the past twenty years, I have spent thousands of hours working with entrepreneurs, business leaders, sales professionals, managers, and teams.
From the outside, their lives often looked very different. Yet beneath their different careers, industries, and ambitions, I kept hearing the same deeper questions: Who am I really? What are my natural strengths? Why do some things feel effortless while others always feel like a struggle? Why do some people thrive in situations that drain others? What am I truly capable of becoming?
Again and again, I discovered that many successful people understood their businesses better than they understood themselves. They could analyze markets, build teams, solve complex problems, and create growth. Yet they often struggled to clearly describe their own strengths, motivations, patterns, and potential.
The more I observed this, the more convinced I became that self-awareness is one of the most underestimated advantages in life. Because the quality of our decisions often depends on the quality of our self-understanding. The better we understand ourselves, the better we understand our relationships, our careers, our leadership, our growth, and our purpose.
Why people don’t reach their potential
What fascinated me most was that people rarely fail because they lack potential. More often, they fail because they never fully recognize it.
Many spend years trying to fix weaknesses that were never meant to define them. Others spend decades comparing themselves to people with completely different strengths. And many overlook their greatest gifts simply because those gifts feel natural to them — something I wrote about at length in the hidden strengths we overlook in ourselves.
Over time, I became less interested in helping people become someone else. I became more interested in helping them discover who they already are.
That shift changed how I think about personal growth. Today, I no longer see growth as becoming a different person. I see it as becoming more fully yourself.
Why I co-founded MeByFace
This belief eventually became one of the foundations behind MeByFace.
Together with my partners, I co-founded MeByFace with a simple vision: to help people begin the journey of self-discovery in a way that is accessible, practical, and engaging. Not by placing people into rigid boxes. Not by telling them who they should become. But by helping them see themselves more clearly.
Because clarity changes decisions. And decisions change lives.
The philosophy that guides my work today can be summed up in four simple steps:
Self-AwarenessSelf-AcceptanceStrength ActivationA Better Life
Everything I write, research, and create through MeByFace is ultimately connected to that idea. That sequence is also the backbone of Beyond the Mirror, our twelve-month program — it starts with awareness precisely because nothing further holds without it.
My mission is simple: to help people better understand themselves, unlock their natural strengths, and build a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
